Rakeshh Jeswaani is a Mumbai-based interior designer and the founder and principal designer of Rakeshh Jeswaani Interior Architects – RJIA, a firm built on 25 years of hands-on experience in the industry.

That experience shows in the work: strong technical know-how paired with a keen eye for aesthetics, shaping spaces that exude warmth and feel personal to each client's individual lifestyle and sensibilities.

His personal style takes on the timeless while embracing the broad and free-spirited — a palette spanning iconic pieces, international furniture, and contemporary art. Frequent travel to design capitals like London, New York, Tel Aviv, and Milan keeps his eye moving between the ‘historic’ and the ‘cutting-edge contemporary’, feeding fresh perspective into every project.

OUR WORK PROCESS

Understanding the Project & Assessing the Requirements

The first step on beginning a project is having a series of in depth discussions with the client to understand their requirements and their way of living. This is also when we brainstorm with the client and arrive at a general direction for the look and feel of the design.

The Floor Plan & Furniture Layouts

The next stage is arriving at the best possible floor plan and furniture layout that will work for the space and how it’s going to be used.

Elevations, Detailed Drawings & 3D Views

This is when every area’s complete design is finalised, materials are decided and all the details are put down on paper. 3D views are made for the main areas and all aspects from furniture, to finishes, and colour schemes are discussed, selected and approved.

Executing the Design on Site

Once the design is fully approved, we begin the actual site work through highly trained contracting agencies. We monitor the work in detail, making sure that the designs are being constructed as we planned them and the finishing is perfect.

Regular Site Meetings

While the work on site is in progress, we hold regular site meetings with all the agencies to check and approve the work being done. On a regular basis, we also do a walk through of the work in progress along with the clients.

Hand Over of the Finished Project

For us, an interior project includes being involved in all the décor items, art, artefacts and soft furnishings. This is the time when we check all the work and ensure that all the services are functioning correctly and all aspects of the project have been properly completed. Only once we are satisfied with the finished product, will we then hand over the project to our clients.
